and I cleaned up one of the headlights

Well, nothing new on the mini,
I had right side hip surgery at Camp Pendleton last Thursday

Hip is feeling great, I'm up and about, moving around on crutches, I went to the store with my brother the other night, I have a leg machine that moves it up and down, keeps the hip moving and it makes it feel great.... I think I'll be able to drive around the end of February or so

ive been doing pt 3 times a week, and havn't really done much to the mini lately

I need to put the front arches back on but they have just been sitting and sitting

ive been having some trouble with the wilwood masters on the car
I was so upset with the masters that I told the VP of wilwood they make shitty parts


back in the middle of Feb, my dad drove me from San Diego to Tucson
and we towed this toy back to my garage

the front suspension is based on a 2wd s10, its been Z'ed 3 inches and the frame rails are 2x3 3/16




the rear suspension is like a tri-3 link
and the rear frame rails that I'm working on

I'm going to lower the truck as much as I can

my dad gave me a zf 5 speed

adapter that I have made on paper, I still need to transfer the paper adapter to metal and mock test

I haven't posted anything here for a little bit of time

I got some new injectors for the mini, some rdx injectors and will need to get a re tune for it, they are 410cc's
so no driving the mini right now, plus its still super hot here in AZ, and the car don't have AC, so I wait for the winter to roll around again

ive been working on the frame for my project 37 chevy truck

its close to being a rolling chassis now
the motor and trans is bolted into the frame, I still need to pull the motor to finish welding the motor mounts

I picked up s10 blazer front suspension with rotors and calipers with new upper control arms and the lowers had new ball joints
$145 out the door



this is the 1st time the frame saw the sun, and then it went back in for motor mounts and trans mount

I made the trans cross member out of some .95 wall 1.5in dom tube and used a poly bushings on it with a thin wall tube
the motor mounts are made out of some 1/4 wall 2in dom tube and 3/16 plate with poly bushings



my dad gave me a wc early 90's f-body t-5 trans and my brother gave me the Lakewood bell housing and a new 11inch clutch disc

the Lakewood needed some .007 offset dowel pins to line it up

i have the axle tabs welded onto the rear axle and the lower link bars are bolted in, tomorrow's plan is to get the front suspension bolted on and stick some wheels onto it

i haven't made the upper link bar for the axle yet because i need to set ride height

and I'm still working on the plan for the rear coils, not sure if I'm going to air bag it with a shock, or coilovers, or coils with shocks

trying to get the 37's chassis into a roller before i have my left side hip surgery end of Sept
drove this last time i was home, vortec carb 350 with a 5 speed

rear suspension is kind of done

I still need to mount the pan hard bar and upper link bar
but for now the truck is on 4 wheels with no jack stands

I'm doing well from my hip surgery,

Something on the oil system broke on my 05 golf and oil pump pumped all the oil out of the motor while I was driving it on the highway and now it has a rod knock


So I picked up a R53 MCS to drive

I havn't posted here in a bit

I ordered new master cylinders for my brake system, because the old master cylinders suck, I wasn't happy with them

and wilwood uses a funky 7/16-20 fitting that's kind of long

so I ordered the long fittings and had a local fitting store build me some custom fittings out of the fitting I ordered

so I have three custom built fittings for my new master cylinders

I have mounted two of the masters but I havn't installed the fittings or got the lines to connect to the brake res that's mounted on the firewall

I took on a big block ford swap in a 72 f250, and that turned into a major project but I'm making some $$ out of the deal

extra $$ will help buy supplies and parts for the 37 and the rhd mini

I'm heading to SD at the end of April,
I'm going the weekend before Steve's mini meet, and driving back the following weekend probably wont happen

so Steve, I'm gonna try and make it out to your place and see what you have going on at the end of April

if I can get the lhd mini brake master fitted and whatnot, I will drive that car out to your house
its still in San Diego at my parents pad, from the mini west show last summer,
I knocked out the head gasket at the end of Jan earlier in the year

and now the master cylinder is acting up on that car, have to pump up the pedal before it builds pressure

have it waiting in San Diego for me to swap

on those wildwood fittings, we just buy 7/16 bolts about an inch long, chuck them up on the threads with a split collet adapter, so the threaded end is out, then drill a quarter inch hole through it and champher the end to seal on a copper flare tube. costs about 10 cents per bolt. (no pressure here so no big deal.)
